House Seefeld

View of the mountains.

Two structures form the S-shaped building with a terrace that perfectly shields it from the street and sits right above the garage and the guest wing. From here you can see the Seefelder Spitze. From the stove bench and the master bedroom you have a village panorama all the way to the Hohe Munde Mountain.

Shingles in Seefeld?

Larch wood shingles are not actually common locally, but are certainly justified in the central Alps. The client was born in the Bregenzerwald region and has a fondness for this natural type of facade: "Fortunately, my husband was also very fond of this idea, a modern house with a larch shell that turns a beautiful silver over time. The covered parts of the facade on the ground floor, however carry a larch shiplap that remains light and will therefore provide an interesting contrast. The entrance on the east side leads into a vestibule and into the foyer, which appears wonderfully bright from above thanks to the generous glazing. Solid oak floorboards also create a natural feeling indoors. A few color accents create a calm ambience in which openness and transparency to the surroundings are crucial.
