The partially 400 year old town house was largely built in the 19th century. In addition to the owner's apartments, it also previously housed a wheelwright's shop with stables in the rear of the building. After sitting abandoned for a long time, the building complex was completely renovated. In addition to the loft extension, particular emphasis was placed on a gentle renovation of the inner courtyard with a spectacular view of the  Schattenburg.

The front and rear structures, that are connected by a two-story arcade, form an inner courtyard with arched windows. They were originally installed in the second half of the 19th century. The parapet areas were also later provided with a wooden screen for weather protection. All wooden parts were gently renovated using a vacuum cleaning process in order to retain and showcase the traces of processing on the wood.
